A tie belt comes with the Kimono and is traditionally worn slipped through the sleeves so that it sits inside the kimono around your back, and fastening at the front to secure the kimono in place and prevent the belt from slipping. This method of fastening also ensures that the dramatic embroidery on the back of the kimono is appreciated fully, without being obscured by the tie belt.
